VE Day Celebrations at The Eastham Home Guard
We would like to put a reminder out to all our membership regarding our VE Day Celebrations on the May 5th bank holiday Monday.
The day is shaping up to be a great family day that has been massively supported by the CH21 Home Guard WWII Living History Group, with: army vehicle and (disarmed) weapons on display, WWII shop displays, Red Cross display, historic films, WWII radio group, 1940's Singer, raffles and plenty of fun activities for kids and adults to take part in!
As the Club carpark is going to be mostly used for the military vehicle display, the CH21 Historic Group have kindly arranged for us to use of the Anselmians RUFC's car park located on Eastham Village Road, Eastham, Wirral CH62 0AN. From there, we will be organising an extra experience in providing people with regular free transport between the car park and the Club on a Vintage Bus!
We understand that not all members of the public will be able to access the Club through this option, and have therefore ensured we have a number of blue badge spaces available on site. We would, however, like to request that people be mindful of the limited number of spaces we will have available, and that you only seek to use these spaces if wheelchair access is required.
Lastly we would like to offer out a massive THANK YOU to the Club Members who have all kindly and generously given time to support events, or donated prizes that the events committee have been able to use to make events such as these possible. Without the generosity of these donations and time and effort put in by the membership along with the committee, these events would not be as successful as they have been.
We hope to see you on May 5th bank holiday celebrating such a fabulously historic event that resonates within the history of the Club.
